ABOUT

MEET YOUR BUILDER

My name is Johnnie Long and I would love the opportunity to build your new home. Many Home Builders started as production superintendents, some worked at the local Home Depot, and some just wanted a major career change from their last venture. I, on the other hand, was born to build! Around the age of three I started “helping” my dad and grandfather with their building business, and since then I have been hooked on construction.

BORN TO BUILD

At age eight, I started doing site cleanup work on my dads custom home sites. At age twelve I started building cabinets and doing trim work with my grandfather. From the age of fourteen to the age of eighteen I worked with my dads Framer (Leonard Laubach, who works with me today), Roofer (Harold “Scotty” Scott, who taught me how to install flashing and shingles), Painter (Juan Navarro, who painted every house we built from 1994 to 2004), Clean Up Crew (Daniel Juarez, who worked for my dad for almost 20 years), Trim Carpenter (Sonny and Mark Haecker, who still trim my homes today), and helped my grandfather oversee the construction on my dad’s homes as well as many of his own. I have owned and operated a successful 12-man cabinet shop, supervised an in-house paint crew, supervised an in-house framing crew, performed Custom Home quantity takeoffs and estimates, performed all of our in-house accounting, managed inside sales personnel, completely designed new homes, and became President of the largest and best Truly Custom Design/Build company in The Texas Hill Country – all by the age of thirty.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS

I grew up in Spring Branch, TX, graduated from Smithson Valley High School, and then attended Texas A&M University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance in 1994. After graduating I went to work with my dad at J. Long Builder. As a fourth-generation builder, our family has built over 400 homes. I personally have built steel framed homes, true basements, walk-out basements, airplane hangars, “Safe Rooms”, German Texas Style homes, Traditional , Colonial , Southwest , Ranch, Spanish, Craftsman, Contemporary, Mediterranean, Tuscan, Texas Tuscan Style Homes. And even a cinder block home. I have also built some very special homes, including: “Camp Cuddle– Up” for Ms. Sally Peterson, “A Montana style Mountain Home” for James & Barbara Gregory, & the “Airplane” home for Larry & Connie Shanks. My experience, knowledge and determination are unparalled in the industry. I have worked with many residential designers and residential architects in San Antonio, several in Houston, one in Austin, and one in Florida.

In 2005, after nearly 30 years of building custom homes, my dad decided to pursue land development. This gave me the opportunity to pursue my own company – and Timeless Luxury Homes was created in 2006.

VALUES

Our philosophy then is the same as mine is now – provide the best service and custom home building experience possible. Since 1994 I have seen many builders come and go – some good and some bad. Building the Custom Home of your dreams should be an enjoyable experience. Take your time and thoroughly interview and investigate each builder you are considering. Don’t just call a few customer referrals, but request credit references, subcontractor references, and supplier references. Do your due diligence now and avoid a potential nightmare later. I am a consumer advocate and get irritated when I see another builders job specifications that are so vague and so minimal there is no way he can be held accountable for any of his work. Even if you have already chosen another builder I would love the opportunity to meet you and review your plans and specifications in detail with you from an unbiased builders perspective.

I am here to help any way I can. I have a lot to offer and will gladly share my knowledge and experience with you.
